Maintenance

There is not much difference between co-extruded and non-co-extruded WPC flooring in terms of maintenance. Since they are both made from the same materials, neither of them needs to be repaired, sealed, or stained over time.

Both types of WPC flooring materials are low maintenance and only require frequent cleaning. You can use a strong detergent or warm soapy water and a soft-bristled brush for cleaning. In most cases, co-extruded and non-co-extruded WPC flooring only need to be cleaned every six months.

Co-extruded WPC flooring has an additional cover film on the surface than non-co-extruded WPC flooring. This is the only difference between the two. This means that non-co-extruded WPC flooring will absorb a small amount of water over time.

This situation may lead to a small amount of mold or bacteria growth. If this is the case, these floors will need to be cleaned more frequently.

However, this situation is unlikely to occur, and even if mold or algae does grow on WPC floors without a cover board, it will not affect their sturdiness.
Lifespan

WPC flooring is made of recycled wood and plastic, so it has excellent water and mildew resistance and corrosion resistance. In this regard, WPC flooring boards have an advantage over solid wood floors. This is because solid wood absorbs moisture and can rot if not treated properly.

Both co-extruded and non-co-extruded WPC decking can last a long time because they are very strong and durable. On average, high-quality WPC decking can last 25 to 30 years or more.

On the other hand, co-extruded WPC decking has an extra layer of protection that makes it more weatherproof. Therefore, it is usually more durable than non-co-extruded WPC decking.
